LP Moon - Wat Banjan

The famous highly respected LP Moon
LP.Moon Thitasilo was born on May, Thursday, 1894, at Ban Jan, Kantararom, Sri Saket. He was born in "Sri Songkram" or "Kaew Pak Pin" family. His father name is "Dee", his mother name is "Ua". His family members were just farmers and poor, but he was very clever. His father knew that he was good at Buddhism then the father let him ordained as a neophyte when he 14. He was studying Buddhism with LP.Sida, the abbot of Ban Jan Temple, who was very good at meditation and had very powerful magic. In year 1917, he was 23 years old and ordained as a monk by LP.Sida. The Pali nickname given by LP.Sida is "Thitasilo" which means "The Lawful Person" and studied with many LP. in the area for 4 years. In year 1921, LP.Moon went further to other provinces, the adventure was very hard and dangerous, he had to walk on foot, faced with the forest's ghosts and any other beasts. He did not give up until he reached Taksila Academy of Ban Jik Yai, Piboonmangsahan, Ubon Ratchathani Province for studied Maha Buddhakom Tome, which was the base of Patamang Tome, Itthijay Tome, Maharat Tome and Trinisinghe Tome. The base of mental power Tome especially the book of Pichai Songkram such as Nitiprakasith Tome, Thanurawet Tome, about consecrating magical armors in the time of war.

In year 1932-1939, after LP.Moon finished his study from varies academy, he traveled into the woods, passed the backcountries area with bare feet, to Bangkok. He visited and stayed at Thep Thidaram Temple for studied until he finished both Parian 5 and Mulgadjaiyana Sut Tome. He also stayed at Sutat Temple and studied some skills from LP.Pae(Buddhist Pope of Thailand), then stayed at Arunratchawararam Temple to study some skills from LP.Pimoltham. LP.Moon taught Mulgadjaiyana Sut Tome (Pure Pali) for many years before followed LP.Thong Dee wandering to the north into Myanmar for 1 year. After the journey to the north, he walked on foot to the south to stay with LP.Tim of Chang hai Temple for practicing meditation and exchanged magical skills with LP.Tim for about a year before went to Malaysia. Back to Thailand again, he went to study skills from Father Klai Wajasith of Suan Khan Temple, Nakhon Srithammarat Province, and got Chan Mark Med Yai as a relic from Father Klai, and went back to the northeast of Thailand. LP.Moon met up with LP.Si Chantasiri in the forest near Nong Kai Province and studied Lob Phong Si skill from LP.Si which was inherited from Somdej Buddhajan To of Rakang Kositaram Temple. He also met up with LP.Man near Ubon Ratchathani Province and studied higher meditation, but he did not join the group because he was in Mahayan Side (like Catholic and Protestant in Christian).

LP.Moon ever told his grandson about the adventure that he had been LP.Man's disciple for a while when he wanted to get Samanatham which is the very deep and complex meditation, only skillful person could reach. LP.Moon stayed with LP.Man for months and traveled alone for practicing until he completely reached it. He knew every well-known LP. such as LP.Waen Sujinno, whom LP.Man ever talked about as a very skillful person, advised LP.Moon to ask LP.Waen if he had any questions about Pariyat Banyat Patibat and other thing over the Phra Tri Sikka Law. LP.Man gave 2 relics to LP.Moon, there are Pan Jan Akara Bai Lan folded into a round candy written with Khmer language "Ye Thamme Hetupaphawa" on it, and King Rama VIII bank note with LP.Man's signature on it which was given later to his mother.

LP.Moon continued his traveling to study skills from LP.Singh of Salavan Forest Temple, LP.Jaad of Bang Krabao Temple, and studied Meed Mhor Mahaprab skill from LP.Kam of Kao Kaew Temple and LP.Ngern of Maprang Luang Temple as LP.Derm Buddhasaro of Nong Poj Temple at Nakhon Sawan Province. Moreover, he traveled to the east to Chantaburi Province and studied magical skills and teacher covered from LP.Sorn of Serng Saang Temple.

LP.Moon is counted as the one of descendant of Sai Wet Witthaya Buddhakom from Somdej Loon of Nakhon Jampasak, Laos.  Somdej Loon is well-known in his mythical power such as walking on the water, shorten the distance, transformation, and walking though the mountain. Old age monks ever tried to find Somdej Loon in order to study the meditation and magical skill from him. LP.Moon himself ever walked to Laos to find Somdej Loon, he spent many years but never found. Until many years later, he met up with a pleasant named Teacher Chan who is the great grandson of Somdej Loon at Nakhon Panom Province. He studied every skill from Teacher Chan, he was advised to study Sai Wet Witthaya Buddhakom from LP.Dam who is the great grandson of Somdej Loon. To be the descendant of LP.Dam, LP.Moon had to pass the intelligence and mental skill tests. There were more than 50 monks took the test with LP.Moon but LP.Dam selected only 3 persons, there are LP.Moon, LP.Song (Muang Temple, Lopburi), and the last one who was forgotten.

The Teacher Covered of LP.Dam had 3 things that LP.Moon never forget, there are;

1. Buddhist Monk's Robe
2. Monk's Alms Bowl
3. Gold weight 10 Bath (given back after finish the study)

Another rule is, the one who study this skill must not leave the Buddhist Monkhood, or he will die. This is the highest hidden Witthayakom of Somdej Loon of Nakhon Jampasak. The study took very long time and very hard situation to be studied. There was only 4 hours to sleep, one meal a day, with crazy final test in the end.

However, many believe that LP.Moon had finished the 4 elemental skill of Somdej Loon which is too deep for normal people to learn. The ones who could learn must have collected very high merit from the last world because to control 4 elements the user had to finish Jatupat Chan first and very specialist in 4 Kasin Jatutat, the 4 elemental as well. After that, LP. Moon came back to stay at Ban Jan Temple and got appointment to be the abbot and Pratuan Level provost "Phra Kru Moon Thitasilo". LP.Moon stayed in religious position for 20 years before retired from every position to spend the rest of his time in practicing Dhamma and meditation. In year 1944, LP.Moon, age 50, wandered alone in to the jungle and accidentally met with "Arjan Joi" and "Arjan Khwan" of Nong Lom Forest Temple on the way. The 2 Arjan invited LP.Moon to please the villagers at Nong Lom Forest Temple for a while. After decades of wandering, in year 1977, LP.Moon went back to Ban Jan Temple to repair and construct the 200 years old temple. The construction went well and finished in the short time, then LP.Moon went forward to repair and construct other temples such as Nong Lom Forest Temple, None Phueng Temple, Sub Lumyai Temple, and Sutat Temple disciple's Temples. These temples later were the auspicious temple for people who respected in the power of LP.Moon. It is not strange that every amulets of LP.Moon is well-known because of the high merit power of LP.Moon.

The names of teachers of LP.Moon in both Dhamma and meditation from the story of LP.Moon are… Somdej Phra Sangkarach Pae of Sutat Temple, Phra Pimol Tham(Nak) of Arun Temple, LP.Jad of Bang Kra Bao Temple, LP.Waen Sujinno of Doi Mae Pang Temple, LP.Kam of Kao Kaew Temple, LP.Ngern of Maprang Luierng Temple, LP.Sorn of Serng Sang Temple, LP.Derm of Nong Po Temple, Phra Arjan Man Puritatto, LP.Si Chantasiri, Phra Arjan Sing of Salawan Forest Temple and LP.Dam the descendant of Somdej Loon of Nakhon Jampasak, included with other mysterious teacher and people in the jungle. In Sahadhammik, there are the disciples of Phra Arjan Man, LP.Tim of Chang Hai Temple, LP. Phrom of Chong Kae Temple and many skillful Arjan.

Dying

At 7.30 a.m. on March 11, 2003, LP.Moon Thitasilo, the 5 age immortal monk of Ban Jan Temple, Kantararom District, Sri Saket Province, had passed away quietly in the Buddhist monk house, aged 109 years, and 86 years in Buddhist monkhood. Phra Maha Pin, age 87, the abbot of Ban Jan Temple, great grandson of LP.Moon said that "I wasn't at the temple that day because I went to the local area near the temple. LP.Moon stayed with Mr.Amnouy Keawon, his great grandson, he was quiet after drinking his beverage. There was no sign of the dying, but LP.Moon always said that he wanted to go to Nongkai Province, Pak Sei at Ubon Ratchathani Province and cross to Laos to Wen Sai Temple, the temple of Somdej Loon of Nakhon Jampasak, to pay respect to his teachers. He said he wanted to come back before Maha Pagoda universary festival on April 12-13-14, 2003. There will be molding main Buddha Statue ceremony and LP.Moon statue at the festival along with Buddhapisek amulets of immortal monk. I thought that was just a normal word because LP.Moon always told me that his teachers invited him to Nirvana so many times, but he wanted to meet with people who respected in him first.

For the body of LP.Moon, the funeral had set at Ban Jan Temple. The disciples and respected people were allowed to bathe the body on 1.30 p.m., March 12, 2003. The funeral continued until Maha Pagoda university festival. The body was contained in a glass coffin, which was brought by his disciples for 200,000 baht, and moved to set inside Maha Pagoda Thitasilo made by his disciples. The Pagoda is located on the temple area, the shape is looks like Phra That Panom Pagoda in the Northeast mixed with Lanna Pagoda of the North. The material of this Pagoda is reinforced concrete and cost 2 million baht. LP.Moon ever told his disciples that he doesn't want his body to be burnt. He wanted his body to be kept in glass coffin inside this Pagoda. In fact, LP.Moon wanted respected people to pay respect to his body and get favorable things because he was a skillful magic user, respected by everyone, lone monk who had very high and pure merit. Jakkrit Klangsastra, the close disciple of LP.Moon, said that LP.Moon is a well-known monk of the Northeast, his amulets are in needed for the collectors because they are powerful in Mettamahaniyom and Klaewklad. He was a very old monk, there was no sign of suddenly dying because he was looked healthy with his high merit. Even LP.Hong the well-know monk of Tungmon Graveyard, Prasat District, Surin Province, had ever let LP.Moon touched his head. When people asked LP.Hong about LP.Moon, LP.Hong always raised the respect hands above his head and told his disciples that LP.Moon is a highly holy monk.

The Miracle Stories of Luang Pu Moon

Did Not Get Wet By The Rain

The owner of the sawmill near Wattana Nakhon ever got strange experience about LP.Moon. He said that around July 1999, he got a business trip to Laos and sat on the pickup truck on the way back at night. There was very stormy on the way, he sat with other 7-8 Thai labours on the back of the pickup truck without roof covered. He was afraid so he prayed to LP.Moon to protect. When the truck reached the destination near kabinburi, they found out that the sawmill owner did not get wet by the rain, but all other labours were soaked. When he had free time, he went to meet LP.Moon and offered to build a Buddhist monk house because on those days LP.Moon only stayed under a Buddhist monk's umbrella inside the old hut.

Camera Breaker

Around August 1999, there was a group of American tourists visiting the temple because of it's very perfect environment. They met LP.Moon and wanted to take a photo of him, but LP.Moon waving his hand and said "You cannot take the photo, the camera will be broken". The American tourists did not understand and pressed the shutter, suddenly, the expensive camera lens was broken. The tourists were wondered and felt respected at the same time, they paid respects to LP.Moon and gave money about 30,000 baht to LP.Moon, however, LP.Moon threw the money back to them and said "I don't work for it, take back your money"

Ghosts Come To Take The Injection At The Buddhist Monkhouse And Shaken It

By the time LP.Moon had consecrated Chan Mak Candy and other materials for making his first generation of Buddha image amulets at night, there were many dogs howling dreadfully like never before. In the morning, Phra Athikan Joi asked LP.Moon about the howling dogs, LP.Moon answered as a Dhamma riddle that "The master of the ghost came last night, he brought some forest ghosts to take the injection". The master of ghost might be the master of demons, Thawwessuwan, and the forest ghost taking the injection might mean brought them to get the charities. At the mid of the second night, the monkhouse was shaken like there was an earthquake. LP.Moon said in the morning that "My teachers came to help me consecrating until the monkhouse shaken" and raised his respected hands to his teachers and then said "The amulets are magical enough, the monkhouse will be broken."

The One And Only

Khun Dararat, the beautiful owner of a plastic products shop in Sampeng, who practiced until finished Manomayitthi from LP.Luesi Lingdam, said that after his brother got an amulet coin and a Chan mak Candy, he prayed for good things. The power of the amulets were very powerful, it made him felt like floating above the ground and looking into the sky. That night, he had a dream of an old monk stood on his bed head and pointed an index finger up saying "The One and Only".
Luang Ta Mahabua Told Phra Arjan Tua to Meet Luang Pu Moon
By the time that Phra Arjan Tua, the best disciple of LP.Kuay, traveled to study with many skillful monks, he went to pay respect to LT.Mahabua and asked for good amulets. LT.Mahabua said that he did not have any magical amulets, and told Phra Arjan Tua to ask from LP.Moon instead. Phra Arjan Tua spent 15 years before he met LP.Moon, Phra Arjan Mongkol of Sutat Temple was the one who went together with him that day.

Familiar With The Old Age Teacher

In the conversation of Phra Arjan Tua, Phra Arjan Mongkol and LP.Moon, both Phra Arjan asked LP.Moon that "Do you know LP.Kuay?". LP.Moon answered "Yes, I know. That monk was very skillful. We met in the wood back in the day". The answer made Phra Arjan Tua felt very grateful because, when he was still alive, LP.Kuay ever told Phra Arjan Tua that "There is a very skillful monk in the forest near Khon Kaen Province, he is already finished. You must find him, his name is LP.Moon". This story was told from LP.Kuay himself.

AC Chum Chaikiri - Biography

Archan Chum was born in BE2450(1907) and have a family background very much similar to the legendary Khun Paen. Archan Chum Chaikiri is the great grand child of Khun Chaikiri (Khun mean nobility). Khun Chaikiri is a Khao or disciple who help Phrayachuattukaraj, the governor of Phatthalung Province to protect Phatthalung Province and southern Thailand from an invasion of Myanmar army about 200 years ago.

Kunchaikiri have many sons and daughters. He studied white magic from Wat Khao Or
and later taught the art to his children. One of Kunchaikiri’s children with the name
"Mueansiripanpirun" learn the art of white magic from him and further his studies into the art from Wat Khao Or. He too have many children and one of them is the father of Archan Chum.
Archan Chum’s father was a soldier and governer in Khao Chai Son district in Phatthalung city. Archan Chum Chaikiri's father is the friend of LP Kong Wat Chaimongkol in Songkhla province. LP Kong who later became the master of Archan Chum Chaikiri gave the name “Chum” to him. Archan Chum had an immense interest in magic and studied magic from his father and family since he
was very young. When Archan Chum was 5 yeas old he can cast a spell to hypnotize poisonous
snake to stop it from opening its mouth, as well as shutting the dog’s mouth up so the dog can't bite.

When he was a little older around 7 years old, he learnt how to cast a spell of 11 words to a hand gun and the gun will be broken upon shooting. This happened in an incident when his father’s friend/colleague came to his house and left his gun on the table. Archan Chum took the chance to perform what he had learnt. So he took the gun on the table and starting casting the spell. However before even trying to shoot, the gun gave way and was broken. Archan Chum’s father’s friend was furious and told him not to use that spell unless in danger. This shows that Archan Chum had mastered the art so well that even before trying to fire the gun, it will give way which was way more than the art he learnt.
Archan Chum had a great talent to learn white magic and he could pick up very fast. He is able to perform a whole lot of magic that usually took double or even triple the time to master.

When Archan Chum was 20 years old, he became a monk under LP Kong at Wat Chaimongkol in Songkhla province and study dhamma from Lp Kong until such a point he became a Khao Or disciple under the advice and supervision of Khunpan Tharak Rachadej . He learn the art of Khao Or from Archan Yied Wat Donsala, who was a direct disciple and one of the most senior disciples of Archan Thong Tao. When Archan Chum was a monk he became good friends with LP Kong Wat Ban Suan
who was at the same time a disciple of Archan Yied too. Which is at 2484, Archan Chum created his first batch of amulets with the support of Archan Yied who also provided him some of the balance “Phong Mahawan” to be mixed in the powder formula. And later joined him for the chanting ceremony. Which many people till today said that wearing Archan Chum’s Phra Puttha Nimit is equivalent to wearing Archan Yied’s Phra Kleep Bua Mahawan.

Initially Archan Chum only intended to become a monk for 1 year but end up serving monkhood for 15 years. So when Archan Chum was 35 years old, he left the Buddhist monkhood and got married. Even after he left monkhood, his interest to study white magic did not end. As long as he heard of any famous Archan(s) or Luang Phor, he will not even have a second thought of going to pay his respects to them in return of learning an art or two.

There was once when Archan Chum came across an old man in the mountains and followed this old man in learning white magic for 3 years. At the end of 3 years, the old man 2 spells of 4 words. “NA WO AH MI” and “ Ba Su Wu Cha”
These 2 spells made Archan Chum realized that a person’s belief is above all.

He helped Wat Khao Or to create lots of amulets which is why the people of Southern Thai gave him a title of "The academician of Khao Or superstition".

Archan Chum later moved to stay in Bangkok with his family when he got older and died on BE2525(1982).
